Q.  What are your areas of specialty?

A.

Each of us maintains a general practice of working with adolescents, and adults to address common issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or behavioral problems within the family, school, or work setting. Dr. Wagner and Lana Grintsvayg also treat young children. Our staff has also been trained in family therapy and couples therapy.

B.

Each of us have particular areas of specialization in addition to our broader treatment skills that can be viewed under our individual profiles

Q.  What are your fees?

A.

Fees for our services fall within the usual, reasonable, and customary charges for mental health providers in northern New Jersey. Our fees vary depending upon the type of service that is being provided. We encourage you to speak directly to Dr. Wagner or Lori Carfi, our billing and insurance administrator regarding fees.

Q.  Do you accept insurance?

A.

In recent years, managed care and insurance companies have become increasingly intrusive into mental health services. In order to preserve our patients’ confidentiality and ensure adherence to the New Jersey Peer Review Law, we have opted to not participate in any of the insurance networks with one acception; Lana Grintsvayg does participate with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Our services are covered by out-of-network benefits, when available.  Our insurance administrator will handle all of your insurance needs including precertification, submission of claims and follow up with your insurance company. Payment is due to our office at the time of the visit, and then the insurance company will reimburse the patient directly in accordance with the terms of his or her policy.

Q.  What forms of payment do you accept?

A.

We accept cash, checks, or credit cards (e.g., Visa or MasterCard)

Q.  How soon can I schedule an appointment?

A.

Please contact the office at the main number (201-445-3299) to schedule an appointment.  Dr. Wagner can schedule your appointment with any of the therapists or can put you in direct contact with the therapist of you choosing. We offer appointments as soon as mutually feasible.

Q.  How do you structure your therapy sessions?

A.

The initial assessment is 45 minutes to one hour in length. Any subsequent appointments are typically 45 minutes.  If longer sessions are required, we are willing to accommodate as is feasible. Typically, appointments occur on a weekly basis, but alternative frequencies can be arranged. The overall duration of treatment varies and is dependent upon many factors. This can be discussed with your therapist. We do offer evening and weekend appointments to accommodate various schedules.

Q.  What if medication is warranted?

A.

We have cultivated positive relationships with various prescribing psychiatrists in the area and can provide a referral to you if necessary. Frequently we will also collaborate with your primary care doctor or neurologist regarding your prescription needs.  With your consent, we are happy to consult with the psychiatrist or other professionals involved in your care.
